Tour Itinerary

Day 1: We start this tour with a ferry crossing from the South of England direct to Spain.  Meeting near the Port before sailing, we take time to introduce ourselves and go through the itinerary for the days ahead.  Once ready we embark the ferry and begin our journey. We can use our time on the ferry to answer any questions you may have about the route or just enjoy a few social drinks.  We can also program your sat nav for you with the routes if you wish.

Day 2: Arriving in Spain we disembark the ferry and regroup just outside the terminal.  Once we are all ready and organised we set off towards our destination for the evening, Burgos, a UNESCO world heritage sight. Utilising a mix of roads including the great N623.

Day 3: Setting off early after a good nights rest we aim for Segovia as our destination for today.  On our way there we will be passing by the Cañon de Rio Lobos before heading into the Guadarrama mountain region where we pick some brilliant biking roads.  Segovia is a historic walled city with a Roman aqueduct and captivating Cathedral.

Day 4: Getting back on the bikes and setting our sights for Guadalupe we climb our way back up into the mountains and onto the famous San Lorenzo de el Escorial Monastery. We pass the El Buguillo reservoir whilst riding some fantastic winding roads before hitting the open and flowing N502.

Day 5: After a satisfying breakfast we repack our belongings onto our bikes and begin making our way North West into Portugal.  With more reservoirs in the passing we also begin to see some picturesque Castles and villages along the route including the Palace Garden when we arrive at our evenings destination in the Castelo Branco area.

Day 6: Today we head into the mountains once again utilising small twisty roads and we make a pass over Portugals answer to the Stelvio, with its highest point at an impressive 1993 metres above sea level, we enjoy some outstanding views at the peak of the Serra de Estrela mountain range before making our way to into the Covilha area for a two night stop.

Day 7: This day there is two options, you can either have a day off the bikes and enjoy some time to yourself at your leisure OR you can do a loop route of the area we have created which will take you around the mountains nearby and will also pass you by the Covão dos Conchos which provides you an option to hike to the featured sink hole pictured above.

Day 8: Making our way to Bragança in North Eastern Portugal, we continue our journey along some great roads including the N221 which takes us through the International Douro Natural Park where the river Douro acts as a natural border between Portugal and Spain.  Offering some outstanding sights its hard to keep riding through this region without stopping constantly for photographs.  There is plenty of wildlife to be seen on this section such as Eagles and Vultures.

Day 9: Continuing our ventures through the many National Parks on offer we begin to pave our way back into Spain.  With Manzaneda ski area as our target location for the evening we are clearly taking in some more mountain roads with great views.  This day is all about the roads and just enjoying some nice flowing routes with scenery thats out of this world.

Day 10: After a great day yesterday with some fast flowing twists and turns we continue heading northwards and pass in through Ponferrada, a city in northwestern Spain.  Its a major stop on the French way Catholic pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela. The Templarious Castle which we will pass by is a great looking Castle with a Moat and drawbridge with lots of local history and artefacts for those interested.  We will be staying in the San Emiliano region for tonight.

Day 11: Heading for Potes for another 2 night stay, via the N621 (a great biking road) through the spectacular Raino we skirt the Picos de Europa. With twists and views that are just magnificent we focus mainly on just riding the roads on offer today as our journey through Spain draws to a close.

Day 12: A loop of the Picos mountain range today is in order to take in as much as we can of the region.  Again if you feel you want or more importantly, need it, having a day off the bikes can be utilised today to let you rest or explore for yourself the local area at your own leisure.

Day 13: Making our way back to the Ferry point making the best use of the final twisty roads on offer we enjoy the last day of sunshine and warmth before embarking the Ferry back to the U.K.

Day 14: On the Ferry we make use of the last of the time we have together as a group to go over the tour and its best bits.  Have a laugh at the mistakes we all are likely to have made at some point during the journey and say our farewells before landing in the U.K. and making our separate journeys home to relive the tales with our loved ones.

***Our 9 Day Version of this Tour will remain fairly similar but will lose the 2 optional days off the bikes and will either remove a few loops or entail slightly longer riding days***

Paella

No trip to Spain would be complete without trying some authentic Paella.

Aqueduct
Segovia Aqueduct Spain.jpg

This famous Roman Aqueduct carries water above the town rather than at ground level as normal.

Biking Roads

Spain has some outstanding roads that seem purpose built for two wheels. Add the sun on your back and is pretty close to perfect.

Stunning Villages

National Parks always promise to deliver captivating scenery and usually some nice roads.  This tour has these a plenty.

This is a must tour for any motorcyclists. The experience was awesome and haggis tours handled everything from start to finish with expert hands...
